Blue Tongue Virus

Free movement of sheep from England/ Wales to Scotland allowed from 10 September 2026.
Sheep can now be moved from England and Wales to live in Scotland without any need for prior vaccination or testing. This allows Scottish purchasers to buy from breeders south of the border and from the Society's final Approved Sale at York on 3 October. 
This link is to the official statement which includes a link to the general licence EXD698(GB). This requires the purchaser to inspect sheep for signs of Bluetongue disease before movement.
