Card Grading

Card Grading attempts to determine the genetic qualities of a sheep by an assessment of its physical attributes. Obviously these physical characteristics are affected by environmental factors and there are many important genetic qualities which cannot be readily identified by simple inspection (such as milk yield, ease of birth, etc.). In this respect, card Grading represents a check of the points a knowledgeable buyer would assess before purchasing.
